Enviro-One’s Formula: Champion of Safer Detergents Recognized by EPA

Design for the Environment U.S. EPA

Enviro-One’s Formula has proudly achieved the esteemed “Champion” status, the highest award bestowed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under their Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative, Design for the Environment Program (DfE). Our products have met the stringent criteria set by the EPA for “safer surfactants,” showcasing our commitment to environmental sustainability. Safer surfactants are substances that rapidly degrade into non-polluting compounds, safeguarding aquatic life in both fresh and salt water. As we never utilize any “toxic” ingredients regulated by the EPA, achieving this recognition was a natural outcome for us.

Understanding the Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative:

The Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) established by the EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) Program recognizes industry leaders who voluntarily embrace the use of safer surfactants. Safer surfactants are designed to swiftly break down into environmentally benign substances, playing a crucial role in the protection of aquatic ecosystems in both fresh and salt water. Notably, Nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs), a surfactant class that fails to meet the criteria for safer surfactants, exemplify the substances of concern.
